Christian Ladies Connect

Connecting Women of God All Over The World

Hello everyone! I just recently joined Christian Ladies Connect and I seem to be enjoying the site very much. I am a 27-year-old single mother of 2 young sons (2 and 17 months). I just want to get to know some of you Christian women so that maybe you can give me some words of advice or anything that you have to offer to help me with. In my younger years, from ages 19 to 23 years old, I kind of lead a lifestyle that I know wasnt too pleasing to God. I wasnt wild and out of control, but I did things that I am not proud of. (Like drinking, going to clubs every weekend, meeting different guys, things of that nature).
Once I became pregnant with my oldest son, I realized that my life needed a drastic change for that sake of my child. I stopped doing everything that I was doing at first and concentrated on taking care of this baby. That following year, being dumb and naieve, I ended up becoming pregnant with my youngest son. (Both my sons have the same father.) Theyre father is no longer in the picture, but now I figured that I need to COMPLETELY give my life to God! Its just a realization that just hit me one day while sitting outside. I always knew that there was something missing in my life and it is Him! I have always believed in God and believed that His Son Jesus Christ died for our sins, but I would often find myself straying away from him. But now, I never want to do that again! I want to always be with Him and abide by His rules. I just need the encouragement and some counsel from any of you ladies that are willing to help me get myself on the right path of Christianity. God bless you all!

My name is Naomi Loau,i have been connected with ladies connect for about 2 months and have loved being a part of it.I have been introduced to the most amazing women. They are very inspiring and encourageing, and am so grateful to god for showing me this site.
I came on this site as a very shy women, and encouraging and praying for others was a major step out for me.
I needed to connect with women who knew or could understand me,or who could give me the right words to help me grow in my spiritual walk.I come on this site at list once a day to be fulfilled with the word or be encouraged by someone else. The power of the holy spirit that flows through this site is so amazing.im blessed to be here
I usually go on the prayer corner or prayer request for pray on any of my family or freinds.
I have also taken on a few tips on quoting scriptures everday, which a grabd from one of the ladies on here.i still read my word at least once a day to keep me focused...I dont read it for hours.. but for a start i read the book of ephesians..im still on it and its been 2 months, ive highlighted the scriptures and words that capture me the most...and read it ova and ova...
Ill tell you why i read ephesians first...i was at work and bottled on what to read...a man whos wife works with me asked me what book i was reading and why, i said,i needed some encouragement some protection from being targeted by the evil one,he then told me to read ephesians...ive really focused on ephe 6- 10 and am still learning.I encourage you to find a good church which is founded on the word of god and has a good set foundation.
God bless u my freind ,my boss is coming...he...he

Ebonie,
It is amazing how God sees us as BRAND NEW once we have been redeemed through His blood. Because your slate is wiped clean, He doesn't see your past mistakes any longer, and now all He sees is your newfound desire to abide by Him and His rules- and guess what? HE LOVES it! You make Jesus smile when He hears you say that you want to always be with Him.
He is always with you. He said He would never leave you.
Furthermore, at this point in your walk with God, you only really need to realize this one thing, and you will know all you need to know: the Holy Spirit lives inside of you.
that's it.
Now-- go do some study on the Holy Spirit throughout scripture. I know it's a bit of homework on your part, but it's worth it, and you will need to do this in order to discover WHO you REALLY are.
Find out who the Holy Spirit is.
Find out his functioning and what His role is to the Believer.
Find out the Holy Spirit's personality. Note if He has feelings, and if so, what kind of feelings.
Not His characteristics. What does He like, or not like?

Why do I ask you to do this?

Because as a believer, Ebonie, you need to understand the power that lies inside of you.

Just find a good bible concordance, or use biblegateway.com, and type in "holy ghost" or "holy spirit" in the version of your choice and begin your study there.

Once you find out about the Holy Spirit you'll know who YOU are and what you are capable of as a Christian.
this will jump start you at fast speed toward the destiny God has for you in Him.

You are going to be helping so many young girls and bringing people to the Lord in ways you never imagined.
Anything is possible.
Just tap into that reservoir and get to know that awesome HOLY spirit living inside of you! You'll never leave Him again.
You've tasted the sweet presence of God and you know He is too good. In addition to that, you now have a whole lifetime ahead of you in which you can get to know your prescious Holy spirit as not only your Comforter, but your Friend.

Love,
Demetria

Hello Ebonie, I agree with Naomi this site is wonderful. I was invited to this site but the person that invited me had no clue that I was looking for a social network of like minded women, I joined and I have loved it since. This site covers every aspect of life. By the way my name is Melanie, I am married and I have three children. Jesus specializes in new beginnings. He said to remember not the former things and press forward :) Sorry I am paraphrasing because I don't have my bible with me. A good spot to start is quiet time with Him. I went to camp over the weekend and was really able to start a better habit of sitting before Him. I now have quiet time for 45 minutes a day and that's to read the word, pray and just have that time set aside. I was reading second Chronicles but I read a Psalms and Proverb when I can't find another chapter. God will continue to lead and guide you. I love music, I probably can find a song for every situation. Israel Houghton have a new CD and there is a song called "Forward" (Not going back, I'm moving ahead, here to declare to you my past is over. Things are new, surrender my life to Christ and I'm moving, moving forward) May God to continue to bless you and your family!
