I heard a preacher say that the Bible is the only book that reads you... I find that interesting... How does that work?

Maybe what he meant was that God's Word is "sharper than any two edged sword". The bible talks about how that God's Word pierces all the way through us to discern even our intentions and thoughts. There is no false play or pretending with God. HIs Word shows all -- so in a way it "reads" us.

I agree Demetria.

I believe we can all relate to what this preacher is expressing!

For example, if you've ever been deeply convicted of an area of sin in thought, attitude, word, or deed while reading God's Word...then the Bible has "read" you. If you've ever sought God for guidance or clarity about a matter and then received needed revelation while reading God's Word...then the Bible has "read" you.

Anytime God's Word provides enlightenment, comfort, assurance, encouragement, correction, rebuke or instruction in righteousness that speaks directly into your life at exactly the time you need to receive it...then the Bible is "reading" you.

Here is the scripture Demetria referred to...

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
